The Gatehouse, Restaries

Paradise Farm

Hospitality

Set within the grounds of a restored 16th-century farm in rural Suffolk, Restaries is a collection of luxury holiday stays conceived as a holistic retreat rooted in creativity, nature and craft. Commissioned by founders Gem Boner and Thom Scherdel, the project reimagines Paradise Farm as a destination where contemporary design, artisanal expression and wellness coexist seamlessly.

Across the three completed guest houses — Cider Store, Gate House and The Cart Lodge — the interiors are defined by a deeply tactile material palette, muted and calming colours inspired by the surrounding landscape, and a carefully curated collection of art, sculpture and objects. Each space is designed to foster a sense of connection: between guest and maker, interior and landscape, rest and renewal.

Surrounded by woodland, wildlife and open countryside, with shared amenities including a heated pool and spaces for communal dining and events, Restaries offers an immersive rural experience that feels both elevated and grounded. The result is a thoughtfully layered retreat that brings new energy to the Suffolk countryside.
